Twenty years ago, there was a small meteorite impact north of the city center. Large enough to leave a crater many meters across and knock out power in the city, but small, comparatively. A lucky, small, slowed-down hit, just big enough to scatter itself as dust and debris and make an interesting impact site.
The site is now home to a museum and geological park, where you can spend the day wandering around looking at rock structures and impact dust and touch cold iron from the stars.
You used to spend hours here, reading informational plaques without anyone to bother you. Now it's mostly a pleasant place to visit and just sit.
You did an internship here back in college. You've considered applying for a job again, but there's a foul taste in your mouth when you remember that your old manager still works here. At least he only works in the back so you never have to see him.
